Almost a year since the last update. The site is still going. But will be changing. I haven't figured out how yet but .. new updates will be listed here at the following site.
"This Web Life blog - at blath.com"
blath.com is actually a domain I've owned and used since 1997 (for the Fort Blatherskite project which started in 1993). And right now is the location of a message forum. I had wanted to find a 'community management system' that would allow me to enter updates easier but allow also the option for comments and other discussions. I thought I had found it but than as I was looking at my final choice and options there was an event that caused a split in the partnership of two software groups which had created that desired option. :( So I stuck with the message forum while pondering what to do. Than a few months ago someone created what looked like a workable substitute that would be intially designed to work with the message forum software I picked. It's taken awhile till that software was stable and available. That day was yesterday.
I still plan to use the thisweblife.com site to hold reference pages like it did years ago. But for new info entries.. the blog will be where it's at. I'll of course have to figure out a way to nicely mesh them.
This is still being tested but it looks like I have found a desired more workable process. If there are any problems do let me know. Klint "blath" Demetrio klint@thisweblife.com - Twitter http://twitter.com/blath

This piece is about an event that occured at about 1:42am on March 1, 1910 when around 100 people were killed in an avalache. Covered is a basic gist leading up to the event from taking the precaution of stopping lines so they could deal with an earlier avalanche on the tracks and events, such as a change in weather, that followed to current technologies, safety inspection and maintenance processes and past rail line modifications that have helped greatly in reducing the chance of people falling victim to an avalanche while travelling through Stevens Pass. Mentioned also in the piece was that a similar event had occured in February 1910.
